I strongly disagree with the idea that people should not try to prevent species from becoming extinct. This essay will explore both the natural occurrence of extinction and the unprecedented impact of human activities, highlighting why active intervention is essential.

First, extinction events in the natural world, such as the disappearance of the dinosaurs, typically occurred over extended periods due to gradual environmental changes or catastrophic events. These processes allowed ecosystems to adapt and new species to evolve. In contrast, the current wave of extinctions is happening at an accelerated pace due to human activities, including habitat destruction, pollution, climate change, and overexploitation of resources.
